Mario Felipe de La Maza

After studying Advertising at the Instituto Profesional Duoc UC, he worked for ten years in the marketing and banking sectors. Starting in 2005, he began his career in the entertainment industry. He has participated in various film and television productions, such as Golpe Bajo (Chile. Television program, 2006-2007) and Los Especialistas (Chile. Television program, 2015).

He made several short films for the Escuela de Cine de Universidad ARCIS. He was a key figure in projects such as Y tú, qué harías? (Chile. Television program, 2016-2018, TVN) and Familias en Jaque (Chile. Fiction, 2019, TVN), focusing on acting, casting direction and content creation for television. He is noted for his mastery of naturalism and improvisation, especially when portraying his characters in extreme contexts facilitated by the strong social experimentation component of his projects. Additionally, he has worked on writing scripts and screenplays for various presentations and stand-up comedy projects. He is currently a producer for the successful mystery and crime television programs: Mea Culpa (Chile. Fiction, 2022, TVN), Alma Negra (Chile. Fiction, 2023, TVN), and El Día Menos Pensado (Chile. Fiction, 2022, TVN).

He is one of the founders of Malagüero Films production company, becoming an active part of the development and production of several international audiovisual projects, including Dubois (Fiction series in development, winner of the Best Series in Development award at SITGES PITCHBOX 2020, Conecta Fiction Award at SANFIC INDUSTRIA, selected for Iberseries Platino Industria 2023, Special Mention at Pitch Series CinemaChile 2020, and selected for Sanfic Net 2022. The project won with the highest rating from the Audiovisual Fund of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage in its 2022 Audiovisual Projects Strengthening Line), La rueda de chicago (Chile • Fiction), El arte de la ausencia (Chile, Canada, Argentina • Documentary), and El mago & el espejo (Chile • Italy. Fiction).

He has worked as a casting director and acting coach for various fiction and advertising projects. He has also served as an acting instructor for several entities, including the 4th Edition of Castello Errante: Residenza Internazionale del Cinema (Rome, Italy), a format involving audiovisual professionals from across Italy and Latin America, supported by the Ibermedia Program, Mibac, and Regione Lazio.
